American Tobacco Campus

American Tobacco Campus

The historic American Tobacco Campus is a model for adaptive reuse of post-industrial sites located in downtown Durham, NC. A National Historic Landmark, the 18 buildings that make up the campus were built to house the American Tobacco Company (originally the W.T. Blackwell Company) where iconic brands such as Bull Durham tobacco and Lucky Strike cigarettes were manufactured. Today, the complex includes restaurants, offices, and residential space, and houses Croatan Institute's offices.
