Located in the Central Park district of downtown Durham, The Rickhouse is housed in a former RJ Reynold's Prizery overlooking the famed Durham Athletic Park, the original home of the Durham Bulls.

Durham's Central Park District features breweries, restaurants, music venues, artist studios, and businesses surrounding a 5-acre park complete with playground, skate park, and farmers market pavilion. The park hosts two weekly farmers markets, free concerts, food truck rodeos, and community events.

At Unscripted you'll be staying in the heart of downtown Durham's historic Black Wall Street, literally two doors down from the flagship branch of Mechanics & Farmers Bank, the historic site of NC Mutual Insurance Company, the historic Parrish Street Forum, the Institute for Minority Economic Development, and numerous Black-owned businesses. Unscripted is a short walk to the main conference venue at The Rickhouse in the neighboring Central Park district.


Getting to Durham

Downtown Durham is a short (~20 minute) drive from Raleigh-Durham International Airport, which has direct flights to and from most major metropolitan areas in the United States. 

Durham is accessible by car via I-85 from the north and south and via I-40 and US Hwy 70 from the east and west. 

Downtown Durham is also serviced by Amtrak and Megabus, with connections to D.C., New York, Charlotte, and more. 

Getting Around

The Rickhouse is in easy walking distance to most locations in downtown Durham. 

Go Durham Transit operates a fare-free bus service, the Bull City Connector, which runs between Duke Hospital, Ninth Street, Downtown Durham, and Golden Belt in east Durham.

If you are driving to the conference, paid parking is available in several parking decks near the Forum venue.
